When searching for a court reporter in a specific city or town in Georgia, be aware of out-of-state court reporting agencies advertising online in cities and towns where they are not actually located.
If they are not in Georgia, your transcripts and exhibits are sent to the out-of-state agency from the reporter who showed up for your deposition for them to produce and then they are sent to you, the attorney. This takes extra time and expense and the chance that exhibits might get lost.
Most independent court reporters do not have toll free numbers. The predominante area codes in Georgia are 404, 770, & 678.
Be sure to ask the person you schedule with if they are located in the particular state that you are scheduling in so that your transcripts are not bounced around the country before you receive them.
